Overview

The Government Sales Manager position is responsible for leading a team of Regional Government Specialists to exceed sales goals within a defined sales territory.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring, developing and leading a team of Government Specialists to meet and exceed revenue, profitability and product mix sales goals for our ergonomic workplace solutions within Government accounts
  • Responsible for growing UNICOR sales within region and building relationships with OEI sales reps and managers
  • Assist in advancing the sales process for individual government sales opportunities within your team
  • Assess sales probability and forecast revenue expectations
  • Conduct minimum number of interviews in order to maintain bench strength for your government team
  • Observe and participate in sales calls with all team members for sales development and coaching
  • Assess sales representative skill sets, create and maintain individual development plans
  • Implements established corporate policies, procedures, strategies and manage sales budget
  • Work closely with Humanscale Sales Managers and Directors who are responsible for the sales teams within your territory
  • Completing sales activity, pending business and 30-60-90 Day forecast reports and general customer service as well as maintaining customer contact database
  • Strong understanding of all of Humanscale’s products, including task seating, keyboard supports, flat panel monitor arms, task lighting, CPU holders, sit/stand, and other ergonomic work tools
  • Effectively work with other Humanscale personnel, such as A&D, Product Specialists, Account Development Representatives, Consultants, Managers

Qualifications

  • Candidate will have 7-10+ years business sales experience
  • Candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of Government Sales
  • Bachelor's degree, business, marketing or communications major preferred
  • Successful track record of managing a sales team
  • Successful track record of planning and execution
  • Working knowledge of MS OFFICE and associated applications are required
  • Ability for overnight travel regionally 50%

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in office furniture or related industry, government market, and contracting, a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Aggressive follow-up and closing skills
  • Lifting up to 40 Lbs
