Support operations by identifying process improvement opportunities within the Humanscale supply chain. Working with the suppliers develop corrective action plans to correct any process failings and drive improvement in quality and productivity. Assist in all supplier qualification endeavors including supplier on site audit and evaluation.


Overseeing the Incoming inspection, NCMR, MRB and customer returns processes. This person will create and maintain all relevant procedures and process documentation in support of the processes listed above. In addition this person will be responsible for system integrity, accurate data entry and trend/graphical analysis of department metrics.



  1. Supplier Quality Management and Supplier process improvement
  • Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Working with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Regularly communicate with Engineering, Quality Engineering and Supply Chain internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement.
  • Collect and maintain supplier performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues.
  • Participate in ECN process to ensure awareness to design changes. Ensure implementation is in accordance with PPAP process.
  • Regularly visit suppliers and assist Supply Chain in conducting Supplier Audits.
  1. Support corrective action process
  • Participate in Quality meetings and present purchased part or product quality issues.
  • Investigate reported external quality issues that are believed to be purchased part or product driven and present findings at Quality meetings.
  • Perform or lead root cause analysis on purchased part or product quality issues and work issue through containment phase of corrective action process.
  • Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process and quality tools & techniques.
  1. Support Supplier Qualification and Disqualification
  • Maintain supplier audit results.
  • Identify repeat quality issues by supplier and maintain supplier quality scorecard.
  • Recommend suppliers for qualification and / or disqualification based upon
  1. Incoming QC/RMA Supervision:
  • Develop and maintain robust incoming inspection system choreographed with material receipts.
  • Champion both NCMR and MRB processes.
  • Chair Material review board.
  • Maintain/create accurate records, inspection documentation, control plans and sample size requirements for all incoming material.
  • Create Supplier corrective action reports for systemic and critical to quality non conformities.
  • Maintain the integrity of non-conforming or quarantine material both transactionaly and physically.
  • Assure that all databases are kept current and accurate
  • Review purchase orders and address terms and conditions
  • Maintains a daily tracking mechanism for tracking RMA's to ensure minimum turnaround time
  • Work directly with Customers service to address RMA investigations, special arrangements and/or issues.
  • Reviews productivity of employees on a daily basis for accuracy and compliance with established procedures, and determines workload for team members.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Traces history of unresolved issues to determine reasons for errors or needed corrections and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Other responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Advises employees on daily work productivity levels and conducts weekly meeting with team members.
  • Capable of performing all job duties of direct reports at a high level of proficiency.
  • Performs all special assignments and complex level projects assigned by supervisor.
  • Directly responsible for exempt/non-exempt staff. Is responsible for the performance of subordinates.
  • Makes recommendations to superiors regarding hiring, termination decisions, training and discipline


  • BS. degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2+ years of supervising
  • Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, PPAP, PFMEA etc. Strong problem solving
  • skills with ability to teach basic problem solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events.
  • Experience in developing part certification processes and vendor quality measures
  • Oracle experience is highly preferred
  • Solid communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead the activities of inspectors
