DESCRIPTION:

 

The Retail Sales Manager - Western U.S. is responsible for market development, sales growth and brand enhancement within the defined Western sales region. This individual is responsible for providing sales support to existing retail customers and expanding the customer base through retail partners that enhance the Humanscale brand. The Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for executing the retail strategy in the region, growing the Humanscale brand among consumers through retailers and achieving sales goals set forth for the region.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Communicate and implement retail sales programs.
  • Achieve retail yearly/quarterly sales goals and operating plans.
  • Help develop and implement strategic plan with the Retail Sales Director to grow current and targeted prospect accounts.
  • Develop and execute sales plans for all major accounts in each region.
  • Support national account stores in Western region.
  • Schedule weekly sales appointments and conversations with designated retail customers.
  • Complete sales activity and opportunity reports, and maintain retail customer contacts through CRM.
  • Maximize sell-through by facilitating retail sales trainings with retail customers.
  • Effectively work with Humanscale retail management and Marketing teams, products managers and Customer Service to enhance the Humanscale brand through retail partners.
  • Perform competitive analysis and gather market intelligence as it relates to the retail channel.
  • Facilitate and launch new products to retailers.
  • Analyze sales numbers on a monthly basis by customer and product line to identify opportunities, challenges and trends.
  • Maintain a close connection to the Humanscale commercial sales team to maximize both retail and commercial sales opportunities, as well as minimize potential channel conflicts.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Candidate must possess 3 - 5 years of successful sales experience. Experience in selling in the retail channel is preferred.
  • Candidate will have 5+ years business sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Prior experience in marketing a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Successful track record of planning and execution of sales goals.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and associated applications are required.
  • Ability for overnight travel regionally 60%+ of the time.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Solid understanding of ergonomics principles.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in retail/consumer sales a plus.
  • Prior experience in contract furniture sales a plus.
  • Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Highly motivated with excellent follow-up and closing skills.
  • Internal Humanscale candidates preferred.
