    Ensure timely delivery of components to support manufacturing production schedules, and finished goods for eventual sale to customers.


    • Place future required Purchase Orders for components, and finished goods using a re-order point system.
    • Update usage figures in the re-order point system, and safety stocks at least once monthly
    • Maintain accurate delivery schedules of P/O’s in the operating system.
    • Expedite and re-schedule P/O’s as needed to support manufacturing and customer demand.
    • Negotiate, and formalize purchasing agreements with selected vendors (material, and service supplies).
    • Qualify New Suppliers on the following criteria: 


      1. Cost
      2. Quality
      3. Lead Time
      4. Technology
      5. Capacity
      6. Financial stability
      7. Competitive conflicts
      8. Ability to move freight


    • Develop new suppliers for existing, and conceptual products.
    • Improve PPV costs, minimum purchase quantities, and purchasing payment terms.
    • Coordinate quality issues with suppliers as follows:


      1. Insure CAR’s are submitted by our quality and engineering group to the supplier.
      2. Insure that the CAR’s are returned with corrective actions in place.
      3. Work with our A/P department to insure credits are applied for supplier non-compliance.


    • Monitor, and track in transit goods from the far-east.
    • Maintenance of system data integrity in the Operating System

    • Freight Terms
    • Banking Information, and remit to data.

    • Buyer/Planner Name
    • Make/Buy Indicators

    • 4 year college degree or other equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years experience planning and purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
    • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Excel/Access/Outlook, knowledge of Oracle a plus, and a working knowledge of the various web based applications.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory planning procedures/policies a must.
    • Ability to prioritize in a fast paced and demanding environment.
