    A highly visible supply chain role that is primarily responsible for managing all planning and buying activities required to meet inventory goals. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing a supply plan that will meet customer service and inventory objectives. The successful candidate will work cross functionally to match supply with demand, working closely with Demand Planning, Scheduling, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Quality to achieve sales objectives.


    • Utilize planning techniques and tools including MRP, Host reports and MS Excel (planning spreadsheets) to prepare supply plans based on inventory targets
    • Overall Purchase Order management of standard components and special order parts to support the requirements of the manufacturing plan as well as replacement and/or Unicor demand
    • Identify and negotiate improvements in unit price, lead time and minimum order quantity
    • Collaborate to manage revision changes, supplier changes and other projects impacting supply
    • Support new product introductions by developing launch plans, loading planning parameters, working with Master Data and Engineering on item/bill of materials, working with suppliers to confirm lead times/cost/capacity and working with Scheduling to define customer lead times
    • Establish and manage inventory targets that support operations and financial objectives
    • Work closely with customer service and Scheduling partners to provide accurate part availability information to meet customer shipping and delivery requirements
    • Build relationships with new and existing suppliers for current and new products
    • Maintenance of planning system data to assure highest possible level of data integrity
    • Complete required reports, metrics and analyses as need in a timely manner
    • Perform other duties and/or projects as required or assigned


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required. APICS certification preferred
    • 5+ years of relevant operations work experience within supply chain, planning or logistics
    • Advanced technical and systems skills required: 1) Oracle, SAP or equivalent ERP, 2) MRP, 3) MS Excel and/or MS Access database, 4) ERP implementation experience a plus
    • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Solid understanding of supply chain fundamentals, operations, finance & inventory management
    • Strong negotiation skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory planning procedures and policies
    • Be open and flexible to changes and make constructive suggestions for improvement
    • Ability to prioritize in a fast paced and demanding environment
