    Overview

    Reporting to the Global Director of Quality, the Global Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for the coordination of the Global Supplier Quality Management (SQM) Program.  The Global Supplier Quality Manager will work with the Global Director of Quality and Global Director of Sourcing to define the overall supplier quality management strategy, including developing a clear mission and vision for SQM and priority setting.  The individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a standardized approach to SQM including global policies / procedures, quality agreements, forms /templates and supplier performance metrics etc. that are compliant with all Humanscale BMS requirements. The Global Supplier Quality Manager shall also be responsible for assuring effective coordination of supplier audits and a global approved supplier list.   

    Responsibilities

    • Development of a high performing team of SQEs and to provide functional and leadership effectiveness by delivering results through others. Demonstrates leadership by setting direction and deploying resources.
    • Responsible to maintain and distribute monthly and quarterly Global Defective Material Notification reporting and Supplier Quality Development metrics to management.
    • Conduct various supplier related audits on potential, new and current suppliers to Humanscale: Supplier Assessments, Manufacturing Capability Audits, Control Plan Audits, etc., and take necessary actions as required
    • Monitor supplier performance and develop / implement effective action plans to improve poor performing suppliers
    • Support manufacturing locations on supplier related performance issues (conduct 8D verification, review containment process)
    • Conduct supplier quality procedure / process type training and awareness activities with suppliers (APQP, PPAP, etc.)
    • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure all levels of manufacturing understand Humanscale requirements.
    • Drive continuous improvement efforts, through facilitating, leading, and collaborating with cross functional teams including Humanscale and Suppliers.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate & implement a strategy for developing new suppliers.
    • Work with supplier to establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements.
    • Follow up non-conformances during-process inspection, pre-shipment inspection, quality complaints from internal customers, product returns and safety recalls. Identify / drive root cause analysis, corrective action and preventive action implementation.
    • Participate in ECN process to ensure awareness to design changes. Ensure implementation is in accordance with PPAP process.
    • Traveling is approximately 60%-80%. International approximately 40%.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 5 years management experience with direct reports
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment
    • Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, PPAP, PFMEA etc. Strong problem solving.
    • Skills with ability to teach basic problem solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events.
    • Experience in developing part certification processes and vendor quality measures.
    • Infor experience is highly preferred.
    • Solid communication skills.
    • Bilingual is a plus.  Chinese Mandarin preferred or Spanish.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead the activities of inspectors.
    • Strong attention to details.
    • Highly organized.
    • Able to direct and lead others to produce desired results.
    • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives.
    • Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work well in team environment.
    • Exercise initiative, achievement and independent judgment.
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
    • Valid passport.
