    Overview

    The Finance Director will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including the analysis and general accounting associated with the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings and payroll accounting operations of global entities. Will work closely with the CFO to develop and implement global accounting capabilities. 

     

    Develop, execute and effectively communicate analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities throughout the organization.  Ability to leverage tools and systems to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information to executive management.  Must be able to understand complex ERP and reporting systems and ultimately become a subject matter expert of our new Infor ERP system. Oversee, design and supervise team adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the CFO in the monthly/quarterly/annual close efforts including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, account reconciliations, accruals, reserves and intercompany transactions.
    • Oversee journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and analysis for global consolidation.
    • Assist CFO in annual budget preparation and 5 year business plan. Analyze and revise the budget and business plan models to continuously increase efficiency and accuracy.
    • Work with department heads to ensure that all budgeting requirements are disseminated, understood, and completed as required.
    • Be responsible for maintaining internal controls over general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, taxation and payroll functions.
    • Review and evaluate current accounting systems and procedures; identify audit exceptions to determine internal control weaknesses and inefficient practices and procedures; recommends corrective action and enhancements to internal controls.
    • Work with the CFO to perform financial analyses and make recommendations to support strategic decision making/new product development.
    • Work closely with managers in all functional areas to assess the financial viability of various business considerations.
    • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
    • Automate recurring report requests and prepare ad hoc reports for Management.
    • Compile key business metrics and report on them to Management.
    • Assist in the preparation of all audit efforts and review work papers for year-end financial audits by external auditors.
    • Obtains and examines audit evidence and gives consideration to the possibility of fraud, illegal acts or other irregularities in the examination of audit evidence.
    • Preparation and/or coordination of government reporting requests, technical resource for various accounting issues and currency translation questions.
    • Management and development of the finance team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting with 10+ years of progressive experience
    • ACCA or CMA essential
    • Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements
    • Strong understanding of the entire accounting cycle
    • Must have knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls
    • Ability to work well with others in delegating, planning, and cooperating in multiple facets
    • Demonstrates attention to detail and organization skills; strong analytical skills
    • Strong organizational skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; must possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions).
    • Excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Organized and manages time efficiently
    • Exhibits the highest professional standards and ethical principles
    • Strong work ethic, capacity to get things done independently, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment
    • Some travel required.
    • Multinational experience required
