Overview

The Quality Engineer will apply engineering knowledge, problem solving skills and ingenuity to resolve quality issues for all Humanscale Products. They will also drive continuous improvement for product and process performance.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Focus and Continuous Improvement
    • Directly responsible for ensuring all quality standards for products are met prior to shipment to customer.
    • Investigates, conducts tests or experiments, gathers data, and performs preliminary analysis for product performance issues.
    • Conducts root cause investigation and is responsible to drive implementation of corrective action and preventive measures.
    • Directly responsible for customer complaint reduction to assigned Humanscale Product line.
    • Initiates, leads and participates in continuous improvement projects.
  • Operations
    • Will work with experienced QE to disposition non-conforming material.
    • Oversee efforts and works with production, inventory control and Inspection teams to quarantine/segregate parts when nonconformance is identified.
    • Directs workers engaged in measuring, testing product and tabulating data concerning test set up and procedure to follow.
    • When sort/rework of nonconforming material is required, provide technical support as required.
    • Participate in Lean activities including Kaizen events, 6S audits.
  • Quality Systems
    • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering fields.
    • Devises sampling procedures and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
    • Will contribute to compile/update training material, SOP’s, and QC Criteria as required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quality engineering within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Solid communication skills, able to work effectively in cross functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams and drive projects to successful closure.  
  • Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work well in team environment.
