Overview

The Business Development Manager is a key strategic role within our expanding ergonomic consulting division, focused on driving account growth. This position is responsible for building and nurturing new client relationships while expanding existing ones, with a strong emphasis on securing long-term service contracts with large multinational organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Position ergonomic software solutions and consulting services to new and existing Humanscale clientele  
  • Develop new streams of consulting revenue through new and existing sales channels 
  • Convert existing transactional business into long-term contract business 
  • Establish strong relationships with our in-house ergonomic consultants and commercial sales representatives 
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with ongoing marketing campaigns, ensuring cohesive messaging and branding
  • Effectively build and manage a group of sales accounts
  • Design and implement comprehensive prospecting strategies to identify and engage potential clients, ensuring alignment with company goals and target markets.
  • Manage client opportunities in conjunction with Humanscale sales management, sales representatives, and consultants;  lead the development and execution of large-scale RFP submissions and client presentations
  • Collaborate with Humanscale marketing department on developing marketing plans specific to consulting services 
  • Represent Humanscale at industry trade shows and conferences 
  • Train account development reps and consultants on positioning ergonomic services and contracts 
  • Effectively collaborate with other Humanscale departments (marketing, commercial sales, operations, customer service) on key initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of sales, selling B to B Services and Software experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or business administration
  • Successful track record of planning and execution
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with overnight trips typically lasting two to three nights
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Possess the ability to execute on initiatives
  • Proven track record of hitting sales targets
  • Demonstrated success in driving business development initiatives and achieving measurable results
  • Established history of effectively managing accounts and consistently delivering successful outcomes
  • Exhibit sound decision making skills in high pressure situations
  • Excellent follow-up and closing skills

Salary Range: $ 87,674 - $127,882

In addition to the salary there is a bonus variable component. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline. Humanscale considers other factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market location and business considerations when extending an offer.
