Overview

The Sourcing Specialist will manage the supply base in North America with accountability in developing and implementing material sourcing strategy and supplier strategy and working with internal teams to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Source new suppliers and maintain long-lasting relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Obtain quotes from different suppliers. Generate quote comparisons and contribute to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
  • Negotiate price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
  • Search, select, qualify, develop, manage, and continuously improve relationships with domestic and international suppliers for existing and new products.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering teams to proactively identify and develop external capability to support strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the supply base by communicating objective performance metrics focused on lead time reduction, on-time delivery improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material-related issues in the industry.
  • Provide solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or Engineering preferred or a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • At least 3 years of work experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, planning, project management
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Organization skills: must be able to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities
  • Experience in searching, selecting, qualifying, and developing relationships with domestic and international suppliers for existing and new products is desired
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment 
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines
  • Must be able to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week, subject to change
  • Approximately 10% national travel (minimal international travel)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP / Data base management.

Salary Range: $70,069-$102,203
